Former champion John Lineker has built a reputation as an aggressive power puncher and is sticking to it as he tries to reclaim the ONE bantamweight world title later this month.
'Hands of Stone' collides with Fabricio 'Wonder Boy' Andrade in an all-Brazilian rematch for the vacant bantamweight gold on February 24 at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video in Bangkok.
John Lineker looks to bring in the heat in the redo and take it to Andrade as he moves to complete an unfinished business against his rival. He told ONE Championship in an interview:

“When I close my eyes, I see myself imposing my game, going up all the time, nonstop. And that’s what will happen. I’m training for this.”
The two met for the first time in a title clash last October which concluded abruptly and was ruled a no-contest, with Lineker unable to continue after absorbing an accidental strike in the groin in the third round.
Making it worse for 'Hands of Stone', he was stripped of the belt for failing to keep his weight within the bantamweight level and in the process deprived himself of the chance to reclaim it even in the event of a win last time around.
John Lineker said he has learned from his mistakes in his previous fight and is working hard to find a counter to his equally aggressive opponent Andrade in their rematch.
ONE Fight Night 7 will take place at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium and will be aired live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.
John Lineker focused on righting the wrongs from his first fight with Fabricio Andrade
John Lineker considers his previous fight to be one of the rough episodes in his illustrious fighting career and looks to right the wrongs that took place there in his return to action.
The former world champion had a nightmarish outing in his last match in October.
He was initially stripped of the bantamweight world title for missing weight even before the contest started. Then, he got a beatdown from opponent Fabricio Andrade. To cap things off, he failed to finish the fight after being struck by an accidental strike in the groin in the third round which led to the bout being declared a no-contest.
John Lineker shared that he was really messed up after and it took a while for him to come to terms with what happened. He shared this with Sportskeeda MMA in an exclusive interview:
"I tried not to even see the comments. To this day, I haven't logged in to see the comments about it. I preferred to focus and correct my mistakes, to show that I'm capable, that what happened was a technical error, a silly mistake on the scales."
He added:
"Now I have the chance to correct that mistake and prove that I can do it. Losing the title messed me up, but now I'm motivated to get back what's mine."
John Lineker seeks redemption at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video on February 24 in Bangkok in a rematch with Andrade for the vacant bantamweight gold. Prior to the sorry outcome last time around, 'Hands of Stone' was on a roll, winning four straight matches.
