Diaz last featured in the UFC in September 2022, when he submitted Tony Ferguson in the fourth round of the UFC 279 main event. Following his departure from the promotion, the 39-year-old made his boxing debut against celebrity YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul last year and suffered a unanimous decision loss.
