Reece McLaren is still salty about missing out on his chance to fight Demetrious Johnson.

In September, 'Mighty Mouse' officially retired from MMA, ending one of the sport's most iconic careers. Sadly, McLaren never got his chance to face DJ despite the two of them competing in the ONE Flyweight MMA World Grand Prix tournament in 2019.

In the semi-finals, McLaren squared off with Danny Kingad with the winner moving on to face Johnson at ONE: Century Part I. 'The King' ultimately came out on top via a closely contested split decision — a loss that still stings as indicated by McLaren during a recent interview with the Bangkok Post.

"Yeah, that still breaks my goddamn heart," McLaren said. "Don’t leave it at the hands of the judges because they will — everytime — break your heart."

McLaren may never have had the chance to face Johnson, but he could still find 26 pounds of gold in his future, should he pass his next test inside the legendary Lumpinee Stadium on December 6.

Reece McLaren faces Jarred Brooks at ONE Fight Night 26

After winning three of his last four, including wins against Xie Wei, Windson Ramos, and Hu Yong, Reece McLaren finds himself as the fourth-ranked contender in the flyweight division.

Returning at ONE Fight Night 26 on Prime Video, 'Lightning' will square off with interim ONE strawweight MMA world champion Jarred Brooks in a bout that could have major title implications for both competitors.

Brooks is fresh off a first-round submission victory over Gustavo Balart to claim the interim title. With the division's undisputed champion — Joshua Pacio — still recovering from ACL surgery, 'The Monkey God' is setting his sights on a second ONE world title.

Who comes out on top inside the Mecca of Muay Thai and takes a big step towards claiming the vacant flyweight MMA crown?

Fans in the United States and Canada can watch ONE Fight Night 26 live on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, December 6 in U.S. primetime.
