"That was a WAR!!" - Dustin Poirier, Michael Chandler, and others react as Dan Hooker ekes out split decision at UFC 305, calls out Conor McGregor

Dan Hooker's performance at UFC 305 has everyone thrilled. Former UFC interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier, Michael Chandler, and many others expressed their thoughts on Hooker's victory.

Hooker squared off against Mateusz Gamrot in a lightweight bout on the main card of UFC 305, which took place this past weekend at the RAC Arena in Perth. 'The Hangman' entered the fight with back-to-back wins in his last two outings. In his last octagon outing at UFC 290, Hooker faced Jalin Turner, defeating him via split decision.

Meanwhile, Gamrot was on a three-fight win streak. The 33-year-old's last fight was against former lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos at UFC 299, where he defeated Dos Anjos via unanimous decision.

Hooker got off to an aggressive start in their lightweight encounter. However, Gamrot changed the game, unleashing a brutal ground and pound on his opponent that left Hooker heavily bloodied.

As soon as the last round started, Hooker launched an offensive. The 34-year-old fighter ultimately won via split decision after three highly competitive rounds of action. The contest was scored 29-28 by two judges in favor of Hooker and 29-28 by the third official in favor of Gamrot.

Following the fight, many fighters took to X and shared their opinions on Hooker's win.

Chandler praised Hooker's performance, writing:

Chris Weidman acknowledged Hooker but stated that, in his opinion, Gamrot won the bout, writing:

''Amazing fight ! Love hooker but I had Gamrot winning that.''

Former UFC double champion BJ Penn wrote:

Hooker, excited with his victory, spoke to Daniel Cormier in his octagon interview and called out Conor McGregor, saying:

''Look at me now, I want them all, brother. I want the BMF, I want Conor McGregor.''
