Former undisputed ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion 'The Iron Man' Rodtang Jitmuangnon of Thailand was under heavy fire from fans and critics last week, following his latest debacle on the scales.
The 27-year-old Thai icon lost his flyweight Muay Thai gold on the scales at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug on Prime Video, when he failed to make weight and pass hydration for his world title showdown against the United Kingdom's Jacob Smith.
Rodtang proceeded to put together a clinical destruction of Smith to win by unanimous decision, but it was not able to erase the bad taste left in the mouths of fans because of his weighty shenanigans.
Addressing the media at the official ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug post-event press conference, Rodtang was asked if he had ever considered moving up to bantamweight, given his consistent failure to make the flyweight limit as of late.

'The Iron Man' fired back:
"I haven't tried moving up in weight, yes, so I can't tell you what will be my answer. But if I move up in weight and I find success, that will be the answer to all of your questions."
Needless to say, Rodtang remains one of the most dangerous fighters in the world, belt or no belt, and will continue to delight fans with his performances.
ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug on Prime Video went down live from the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on Saturday, Nov. 9. Fans in the United States and Canada can catch all the action via replay on-demand with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
