Throwback to Jared Cannonier showcasing his spotless hands after an impressive performance against Marvin Vettori.
In July 2022, Cannonier was coming off a loss against Israel Adesanya for the UFC middleweight title. He bounced back with a split decision win against Sean Strickland five months later to reinsert himself into the 185-pound title picture.
Cannonier's bounce-back performance led to a matchup against Marvin Vettori in the UFC Vegas 75 main event. 'Tha Killa Gorilla' had one of the best performances of his career, as he landed 240 significant strikes and won by unanimous decision.
Following his win, Cannonier joined Alan Jouban backstage for a post-fight interview. Jouban was surprised that the UFC middleweight's hands weren't damaged, despite enduring a five-round war and throwing hundreds of punches.

Jared Cannonier looks to get back on track by taking out Caio Borralho at UFC Vegas 96
Jared Cannonier failed to capitalize on his two-fight run against Sean Strickland and Marvin Vettori after returning earlier this year. Cannonier fought in Paris and suffered a fourth-round TKO loss against Nassourdine Imavov.
On Aug. 24, Cannonier has an opportunity to return to the win column in the UFC Vegas 96 main event. The number five-ranked middleweight has been matched up against number twelve-ranked Caio Borralho.
Borralho made his UFC debut in April 2022. Since then, the Fighting Nerds affiliate has established a presence in the division with six consecutive wins, including a second-round knockout against Paul Craig last time out.
The middleweight division is slightly backed up, with Dricus du Plessis' next title defense expected to be against Sean Strickland or Robert Whittaker/Khamzat Chimaev. With that said, the winner between Borralho and Cannonier would prove they deserve a spot in the extended title picture.
