Covington could not return to winning ways in UFC Tampa against Joaquin Buckley and fans have taken a dig at him since the loss. He was trolled even more after making an excuse of him not being able to devote himself fully to training for the fight due to being busy campaigning for Trump.
The former interim welterweight champ posted a picture with the former NFL star and wrote:

Chael Sonnen gets honest about Colby Covington’s loss at UFC Tampa
Colby Covington lost to Joaquin Buckley via third-round TKO at UFC Tampa. The cage-side doctors had to stop the fight after Covington got a cut over his right eye that affected his vision.
Covington's coach for UFC Tampa, Chael Sonnen praised him despite the loss, and now revealed that he himself was about to stop the fight. As per Sonnen, the doctor's stoppage was justified.
In a recent YouTube video, Sonnen said:
"He’s busted open so bad that the doctor has to look at it three times… Twice, he stops the action to let it keep going, the third time... I was going to stop that fight; I already grabbed the towel..."
