BJJ icon Dante Leon wants to face the best grapplers in the world, and there's only one place to do that. With more than 140 career wins and two IBJFF world championships to his credit, Leon is ready for a new challenge.

On Friday, Dec. 6, the Pedigo Submission Fighting product will make his ONE Championship debut at the promotion's latest Amazon Prime Video offering, ONE Fight Night 26.

Emanating live from the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, Leon will square off with accomplished grappler and mixed martial artist Bruno Pucci in a lightweight submission grappling showdown.

Speaking with ONE ahead of his highly anticipated debut, Leon shared some insight into why he chose to sign with the promotion.

“There are extremely high-level grapplers over there that have held titles," Leon said. "Now, some of the most high level on the planet, regardless of who you ask, regardless of what kind of competition rules that you’re looking at, the best of the best are over there at ONE as far as submission grappling goes.”

Dante Leon has his sights set on winning ONE Championship gold

Like any other professional grappler, Dante Leon has his sights set on becoming one of the greatest submission specialists the sport has ever seen.

Becoming a ONE world champion will undoubtedly go a long way towards making that dream a reality for the Canadian-born star.

“I think if anybody’s serious about grappling — if anybody’s serious about winning a title that will cement their legacy as an all-time great, I think the ONE World Title is key for your mantelpiece,” Leon added.

Leon will face a tough test in his promotional debut as he meets Pucci — the husband of former ONE atomweight MMA queen Angela Lee. 'Puccibull' has established himself as a world-class martial artist, putting together an impressive 24-4 record in his career.

Pucci is also a two-time No-Gi submission grappling world champion, winning titles in 2009 and 2010.

Fans in the United States and Canada can watch ONE Fight Night 26 live on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, Dec. 6 in U.S. primetime.
