Superbon wants to prove he's "the best Muay Thai champion."
Superbon's ONE Championship tenure has been filled with success, primarily in the featherweight kickboxing division. The former featherweight world champion now looks to further his legacy by claiming gold in Muay Thai.
The Thai superstar's first attempt to dethrone Tawanchai from his featherweight Muay Thai world title was unsuccessful. Slightly over two years later, Superbon will have another opportunity in their rematch scheduled for January 24 in the ONE 170 main event.
During an interview with ONE, Superbon had this to say about his desire to become a Muay Thai world champion:

"Today, ONE Championship is the world’s biggest Muay Thai event. Its championship would be the best one in the world. I’d need to prove that I’m the best Muay Thai champion."
Superbon and Tawanchai have each fought once since their first meeting in December 2023, both securing wins against Jo Nattawut. Tawanchai defeated Nattawut by unanimous decision to defend his throne, while Superbon knocked the same fighter out in the first round to earn another title shot.

Superbon's run in ONE Championship
Superbon made his ONE Championship debut in July 2020 and prioritized kickboxing for the next few years.
The Thai superstar's promotional tenure started with a historic run due to consecutive wins against Sitthichai, Giorgio Petrosyan, and Marat Grigorian.
In January 2023, Superbon endured his lone promotional kickboxing defeat, a second-round knockout against Chingiz Allazov.
He later bounced back with a highlight-reel knockout against Tayfun Ozcan and a unanimous decision against Grigorian for the interim featherweight kickboxing world title. Superbon was later elevated to undisputed champion when Allazov parted ways with the promotion.
Before fighting Grigorian for a second time, Superbon made his promotional Muay Thai debut, a unanimous decision defeat against Tawanchai. The featherweight kickboxing king last fought in September 2024, defeating Jo Nattawut in Muay Thai to set up his rematch with Tawanchai.
At ONE 170, Superbon looks to separate himself as one of the greatest fighters in promotional history by becoming a two-sport world champion.
