Alex Pereira is known as the most fearsome and stoic UFC combatant but he does have a comedic side to him. In the lead up to his next fight at UFC 307, Pereira showcased his silliness in a video recently posted to the official UFC account on X.

The video shows Pereira speaking in a hushed and romantic tone as sensual music plays in the background. The former multi-division Glory kickboxing champion laughed multiple times in the video and clearly seemed to be having fun while letting loose.

Several X users shared their reactions to the video and a sizable tweet thread amassed thereafter.

Alex Pereira and his UFC 307 task at hand

Alex Pereira was all smiles in the fight week video but will revert back to his familiar cold countenance in the coming days. He will step into the cage with the aim of making yet another light heavyweight title defense this calendar year.

Pereira will collide with Khalil Rountree Jr. in the pay-per-view headliner in Salt Lake City on Oct. 5 at UFC 307.

The 37-year-old is on the heels of knocking out former 205-pound champions Jamahal Hill at UFC 300 and Jiri Prochazka in a rematch at UFC 303. Pereira now faces a streaking challenger who seems keen on engaging the champion in the stand up portion of the game.

Rountree Jr. is the number eight ranked contender in the UFC and is riding a five fight win streak, with four of them being knockouts. 'Poatan' is in a position where if he gets his ideal outcome against Rountree Jr., he could break a UFC record that has been held for a decade.

Ronda Rousey defended her bantamweight belt three times during a stretch of 189 days in 2014. Meanwhile, Alex Pereira could potentially secure three title defenses this Saturday within 175 days.

The Sao Paulo native also holds the distinction of being the first and only middleweight and light heavyweight champion in UFC history.
