Before his next assignment under the ONE Championship banner, Kang Ji Won offered his thoughts on a hypothetical matchup against divisional king Anatoly Malykhin.

'Mighty Warrior' is slated to take on Kirill Grishenko at ONE Fight Night 23 inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on July 5, knowing a win could propel him into the world title picture.

Though the South Korean slugger and Malykhin share a mutual respect for one another's qualities, they know that it is only a matter of time before a five-round scrap materializes.

With that in mind, Kang knows he'd have to eventually prepare to go toe-to-toe with MMA's first three-division MMA world champion. And, in his opinion, there will be no shortage of excitement and thrills when they do cross paths someday.

In a recent chat with ONE Championship, the Wang Ho athlete said:

"We both love to strike, and it's going to be a fun one. It's going to be really hard work. But the fans will be in for a treat in that one."

This matchup could come to fruition should Kang and Anatoly Malykhin ace their upcoming fights on the global stage of ONE Championship.

Anatoly Malykhin defends his heavyweight gold vs Reug Reug at ONE 169: Atlanta

Anatoly Malykhin is slated for his first heavyweight MMA world title defense against 'Reug Reug' Oumar Kane at ONE 169: Atalanta, which emanates live from the State Farm Arena on November 8.

The undefeated Russian behemoth will be out to silence the Senegalese fighter, who has been on a roll on social media, boldly claiming that he can be the first fighter to put a dent on 'Sladkiy's' perfect resume.

While there's no doubt that 'Reug Reug' has the knockout power to do the unimaginable, it'll be hard to overlook Malykhin's strengths in that very department when they collide in the United States.

The Golden Team representative has finished all four world title matchups under the ONE banner via KO. Besides, with an overall 100 percent finish rate in his career, he shouldn't struggle in any form or way when he locks horns with Kane later this year.

ONE 169: Atlanta will be ONE Championship's third on-ground spectacle in North America.
