"The game will change" - Superbon planning different look for Tawanchai in world title rematch

Undisputed ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion Superbon hopes to join an exclusive club of ONE Championship athletes to hold two world titles simultaneously by unseating Tawanchai PK Saenchai from the 155-pound Muay Thai throne at ONE 170 on Jan. 24.

The top-ranked ONE featherweight Muay Thai competitor prides himself on meticulously planning for his opponents, but he is choosing to keep his strategy for Tawanchai to himself.

Superbon recently spoke with ONE about how he plans to approach their long-awaited rematch, saying:

"The game will change for sure but it's nothing I can explain or announce. It should be kept secret until the big day. And I'm 100 percent sure that the game will totally be different."

The founder of Superbon Training Camp challenged Tawanchai for 26 pounds of featherweight Muay Thai gold in December 2023.

While it was one of the best striking displays that Superbon has produced, he ultimately fell short of the goal as the 27-year-old retained the crown via majority decision.

Now presented with an opportunity to exact his revenge, fans can expect the Thai veteran to channel his frustrations and produce a monumental upset inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.

Superbon believed he was destined to rematch Tawanchai

Rematches in combat sports are rare and a world championship rematch is even rarer. Still, Superbon knew in his heart that he and Tawanchai would again go to war over the ONE featherweight Muay Thai world championship.

The 34-year-old told ONE in a separate interview:

"I was confident I'd be in a championship match, as some said I should have won, while some said Tawanchai should win. So, I knew we were going to have a rematch."
