ONE Championship's brightest stars lived up to the excitement leading up to ONE 170 on Friday, Jan. 24, with Tawanchai PK Saenchai retaining the ONE featherweight Muay Thai world championship in spectacular fashion against veteran striker Superbon.
With both athletes on equal footing entering the second round, it all came down to who would capitalize on the moment. Tawanchai turned up the pressure and dropped the 155-pound kickboxing king thrice to win via TKO.
Tawanchai, now having successfully defended the throne four times, spoke about the key to his victory in the in-ring post-fight interview with ONE commentator Mitch Chilson, saying:
"Yes, I knew that the hands would be the key. I just want to say that I don't want what happened in the last fight with Superbon to happen again."

The Thai phenom was referring to his first encounter with Superbon in December 2023, in which he retained the featherweight Muay Thai gold via majority decision.
Finishing the founder of Superbon Training Camp may have stung due to them sharing the same nationality, but Tawanchai could not have asked for a better return to form.
Tawanchai lives up to his promise of an entertaining rematch
Part of Tawanchai's motivations heading into ONE 170 was to give the fans inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, and around the world one of the best displays of striking excellence under the ONE banner.
The PK Saenchai Muay Thai Gym product said as much in his pre-fight interview with combat sports journalist Nick Atkin:
"Maybe I'm not as excited as you are, but I'm very sure that this fight will be more entertaining than the last fight."
