Alex Pereira completed yet another weigh-in successfully as he clocked 205 lbs for his UFC 307 main event encounter against Khalil Rountree Jr. The UFC fanbase has lauded Pereira for his knack of staying active on multiple occasions, but this time fans hailed 'Poatan' for his incredible efficiency towards making weight for a fight.
It's pertinent to note that the UFC 307 would feature Pereira in his fourth main event bout within 11 months, a feat never achieved in the UFC. The count starts from UFC 295, held on 11 November 2023. It includes the UFC 300 and UFC 303, which makes UFC 307 the fourth event headlined by Pereira in less than 11 months.
An Instagram post from MMA Junkie highlighted how Pereira had also completed four successful weigh-ins for his fights, something that fans appreciated massively.

Alex Pereira knows why the UFC elected Khalil Rountree Jr. as his rival ditching Magomed Ankalaev
Generally, the ones who hold the top five ranks in a division are most likely to get a title shot. But the UFC 307 stands as a stark exception to this tradition as Pereira will be defending his title against the No. 9 ranked light heavyweight contender, Khalil Rountree Jr.
Several fans argued that the No. 2-ranked light heavyweight, Magomed Ankalaev should have received a shot at the divisional gold instead of 'The War Horse'. However, Pereira recently gave out his take on why the UFC overlooked Ankalaev during an episode of Daniel Cormier's YouTube podcast. He said:
"I cannot say I don't know why the UFC didn't put this guy [Ankaleev] in the fight because I do know. It's because he's boring. He puts on boring fights, so he's not the first pick of the UFC."
