Gina Carano's lawsuit with Disney over her termination from 'The Mandalorian' television series has experienced a new development. Last week, district judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett denied a motion from Disney to have the lawsuit dismissed, citing a failure to raise an impenetrable defense from the defendants.
Now, the lawsuit is expected to go to trial with a tentative Sep. 29, 2025 date. Despite the length of time between the motion dismissal and trial, the trial itself is expected to last just a week. In the meantime, both Disney and Carano's attorneys have filed paperwork consisting of a list of witnesses.
In the wake of her lawsuit's latest development, the witnesses Carano has listed include the leading man of 'The Mandarolian,' Pedro Pascal, former Disney CEO Bob Chapek, series creator Jon Favreau, and Kathleen Kennedy, who is the current president of Lucasfilm, the production company for 'The Mandalorian.'

Carano opines that she was subjected to unfair treatment compared to Pascal, as both had made statements comparing groups of people to the Jews under Nazi Germany, with only Carano being punished. Thus, she believes that she was wrongfully terminated, as she described herself as employed by Lucasfilm.
This, however, was contested by Disney, which held that Carano was not under their employ after they axed her from 'The Mandalorian' and a subsequent spinoff called 'The Rangers of the New Republic' was canceled in the wake of Carano's controversial social media posts.
For context, Carano, who is known for her conservatives views, likened being a conservative in the United States to being Jewish under the Nazi Germany regime. This drew tremendous backlash, which ultimately led to Disney severing ties with the WMMA pioneer.
This isn't the first time Gina Carano has had a difficult relationship with a company's upper management
At one point, Gina Carano seemed to be on a collision course with then UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. This was back in 2014, after Carano had expressed an interest in returning to MMA, with her last bout having been against Cris Cyborg, to whom she lost in one-sided fashion.
"He sent me a text message that said, 'This b*tch is f***ing us around."

Unfortunately, her matchup with 'Rowdy' never materialized after Dana White allegedly announced her return prematurely before Carano had even committed to a training camp. An unprofessional text exchange between her and White ensued and she walked back on her desire to fight again.
