“The organization that celebrates all forms of martial art” - Demetrious Johnson on what separates ONE from the competition 

As a true martial artist, Demetrious Johnson appreciates that ONE Championship shines the spotlight on every combat sport.

Apart from its stacked MMA ranks, the world's largest martial arts organization regularly includes Muay Thai, kickboxing, and submission grappling matches in its massive events, which air live in US Primetime via Amazon Prime Video.

Every now and then, ONE even hosts innovative boxing bouts in four-ounce gloves as well as the first-of-its-kind mixed-rules events.

Demetrious Johnson figured in arguably the best one of them all when he slugged it out with Thai destroyer Rodtang Jitmuangnon in a hybrid match featuring Muay Thai and MMA rules in the historic ONE X back in 2022.

Appearing in an interview with MMA Fighting, 'Mighty Mouse' cited the home of martial arts' multitude of combat sports offerings that separates it from every other promotion in the world:

"Yeah, 1000% that's what I think separates ONE Championship from the rest of the competition. It's not a mixed martial arts organization. It is the organization that celebrates all forms of martial arts."

The former ONE flyweight MMA kingpin continued:

"You have kickboxing, you have Muay Thai, you have mixed martial arts, you have submission grappling. We even have boxing. We haven't gone back to boxing yet."

Demetrious Johnson opens up about great relationship with Chatri Sityodtong

It's an open secret that Demetrious Johnson didn't always see eye-to-eye with his former employer, the UFC.

However, 'DJ' said that all changed when he took his talents to ONE Championship and connected with the promotion's Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong.

Johnson told MMA Fighting:

“My relationship with Chatri has always been amazing. Other fighters can say differently, like they've never had a good conversation or relationship with Chatri, but each time Chatri and I ever talk, it's always been straightforward.”
