Rodtang believes the rematch between Tawanchai and Superbon will be "even more on fire" than their first meeting. In Dec. 2023, Tawanchai and Superbon created an instant classic Muay Thai bout in the ONE 167 main event.
Two years later, the world-class strikers will meet again in the ONE 170 main event, scheduled to take place on Friday, Jan. 24. The combat sports community, including many ONE Championship fighters, will tune in to watch the highly anticipated rematch between Tawanchai and Superbon.
During an interview with ONE, Thai megastar Rodtang had this to say about Friday's main event:
"I think the first fight was interesting in terms of exchanging kicks, and I think the upcoming one will be even more on fire as there is a belt as a stake."

Following his loss against Tawanchai, Superbon returned to the ONE featherweight kickboxing division for a win against Marat Grigorian. The Thai striker later secured his rematch with Tawanchai by defeating Jo Nattawut in Muay Thai with a first-round knockout.
Meanwhile, Tawanchai has fought once since facing Superbon, a unanimous decision Muay Thai title defense against Jo Nattawut.
ONE 170 will showcase three world title fights inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. The upcoming staked event can be seen via watch.onefc.com.
The other matchups on Friday featuring ONE gold are Fabricio Andrade vs. Kwon Won Il 2 (bantamweight MMA co-main event) and Nico Carrillo vs. Nabil Anane (interim bantamweight Muay Thai featured bout).
Superbon looks to solidify legacy as two-sport world champion
Superbon became a ONE Championship legend with his three-fight kickboxing run against Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong, Giorgio Petrosyan, and Marat Grigorian. He was later dethroned of featherweight kickboxing gold due to a knockout loss against Chingiz Allazov.
The Thai superstar regained control of the featherweight kickboxing division by claiming the interim title, later upgraded to undisputed due to Allazov remaining inactive.
At ONE 170, Superbon has an opportunity to avenge his defeat against Tawanchai and become a two-sport world champion. With a win later this week, the 34-year-old would further solidify himself as one of the greatest strikers in promotional history.
