Nico Carrillo is ready to fight one of the Muay Thai icons who inspired him to become a potential future world champion.
On December 22, ONE Championship returns to the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium for ONE Friday Fights 46. In the main event, Tawanchai PK Saenchai plans to defend his ONE featherweight Muay Thai world title in a super-fight against former ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion Superbon SIngha Mawynn.
Before the Thai superstars go toe-to-toe, there will be several intriguing preliminary matchups. One of those fights features Nico Carrillo getting a massive opportunity to fight his childhood hero, Nong-O Hama.
Carrillo recently shared his fight announcement on Instagram with the following caption:

“The valiant one always wins. Once Upon a time I would sit at the back of school class and watch this guy everyday on my phone, life’s funny like that😊 you see where hard work and dedication gets you. #1 spot up for grabs then I’m coming for gold. See you at the top”
Nico Carrillo made his ONE Championship debut in April, defeating Furkan Karabag by third-round knockout. Two months later, the 25-year-old Scottish fighter returned and continued building momentum with a second-round knockout against Muangthai PK Saenchai.
Meanwhile, Nong-O last fought in April when he was shockingly dethroned of the bantamweight Muay Thai world title due to a first-round knockout loss against Jonathan Haggerty. He now looks to get back on track after having his 10-0 promotional run ended.
ONE Friday Fights 46 can be seen live and for free on YouTube for North American viewers.
