Danny Kingad believes a win over Adriano Moraes will secure him an opportunity to compete for the vacant ONE flyweight MMA world championship.
Nearly a year removed from his last outing against Yuya Wakamatsu in January, 'The King' will return to the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, for a high-stakes clash with the former eight-time world titleholder at ONE 169 on Friday, November 8.
Kingad has alternated wins and losses in his last five fights but is still holding strong as the third-ranked flyweight MMA contender.

With Moraes occupying the top spot, the Filipino fan favorite is confident that a win against 'Mikinho' will put him in line for the flyweight title recently vacated by pound-for-pound great Demetrious Johnson.
“I think this fight is the way to get that world title shot after seven long years,” Kingad told Manila Standard. “I’m motivated. The world title is there for the taking and I’m eyeing it.”
Danny Kingad could avenge a 2017 loss against Adriano Moraes at ONE 169
Danny Kingad and Adriano Moraes are certainly no strangers to one another. The two warriors previously met at ONE: Legends of the World in November 2017. On that night, Moraes submitted Kingad in the opening round to retain the ONE flyweight MMA world championship.
Kingad responded to the loss by winning six in a row but saw that streak snapped against Demetrious Johnson in the ONE Flyweight MMA World Grand Prix tournament in 2019.
Of course, Moraes went toe-to-toe with 'Mighty Mouse' on three separate occasions, coming up short against the inaugural ONE Championship Hall of Fame inductee in their final two meetings.
Moraes' fight with Kingad will be his first appearance since falling short of reclaiming the flyweight MMA crown against 'DJ' at ONE Fight Night 10 a year and a half ago.
