ONE Championship-debuting Nico Cornejo of the United States is excited to be fighting on the same card as ONE megastars Jonathan Haggerty and Superlek Kiatmoo9. He said he looks up to both top fighters and sees his fighting style in them.
The 34-year-old Colorado, U.S.A. native will be featured in front of his hometown fans in a lightweight MMA match at ONE 168: Denver on Sept. 6. He will go up against teen phenom Adrian Lee.
In an interview with MMA UK, which was uploaded on YouTube on Wednesday, 'The Steel City Kid' spoke about competing on the same night with his favorite fighters who headline ONE 168 in an all-champion title clash, saying:
"I've been following Jonathan Haggerty and Superlek a lot. I'm looking forward to Jonathan Haggerty. I've watched him on Instagram. I've seen his videos, and I've become a huge fan overnight. Him and his brother. I became huge fans of those two dudes overnight, just the way they train and stuff like that, their talent is kinda similar to mine."

ONE 168 will be the third professional fight of Nico Cornejo, who won his first two matches before coming on board ONE Championship.
Seeking to clip him in his promotional debut is Lee, 18, younger brother of ONE lightweight and welterweight MMA world champion Christian Lee, who had a winning debut back in June.
ONE 168: Denver will take place at the Ball Arena and air live and for free in U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription. Tickets for the event are available for purchase on Ticketmaster.

Nico Cornejo seeks to make it a ONE Championship debut to remember at ONE 168: Denver on Sept. 6 and showcase what he is made of as a fighter and win.
He shared this in the same interview with MMA UK, ahead of his flyweight MMA showdown against Adrian Lee, saying:
"This is the biggest stage of my life so far. So I'm gonna soak everything in, take nothing for granted, and just go with it, show the world who Nico Cornejo is."
Cornejo has been undefeated as a professionl fighter, winning his first two matches, which he hopes to build on as he embarks on his ONE Championship journey.
