Tracy Cortez and Rose Namajunas both made weight for their main event clash this weekend with some fans online taking note of their contrasting demeanors while weighing in.
Cortez had to chop off some of her hair in order to make weight for this looming trip to the octagon tomorrow night. The No.11-ranked flyweight contender was clearly emotional based on how her face contorted. Tracy Cortez was obviously fighting back tears as she hit the 126-pound mark while holding the hair she had chopped off in one of her hands as the other hand reached to the sky.
The former straweight champion then took to the scales and Najamunas weighed in at 124 and three quarter pounds for this UFC Denver headliner. She sported a shaved head and was comparatively much more stoic relative to her opponent on Saturday.
'Thug' Rose is ranked sixth at flyweight right now and this bout has some potential title implications for the 125-pound division going forward.

Tracy Cortez and her road to returning at UFC Denver
Tracy Cortez has had multiple lengthy layoffs throughout her UFC tenure. This latest competitive hiatus prior to this UFC Denver comeback came from an off-roading accident while riding a dune buggy following her last victory in the cage. At the first UFC Noche event which took place last September, Cortez garnered a win over number fifteen ranked flyweight Jasmine Jasudavicius.
The 30-year-old appeared on The MMA Hour recently and spoke about a really bad accident she sustained at Glamis dunes following the Jasudavicius fight. One where she sustained the worst injuries out of all who had been involved.
Tracy Cortez stated how she rolled several times with the crash and racked up a litany of injuries such as a chipped tooth, black eyes, a near hematoma, as well as saying to show host Ariel Helwani, she blacked out once her helmet was dislodged.
The Arizona native mentioned how it lead to some of the most severe injuries she had ever suffered. Cortez vowed to be more thoughtful in her recreational behaviors by pulling back a bit from adrenaline seeking activities which she has admitted to enjoying more frequently in the past.
