In her third outing under the ONE Championship banner, Mayssa Bastos is looking to build on her previous performance.

You don't reach the very top of your chosen field without constantly trying to improve wherever possible.

This is certainly the case for Bastos who has achieved so much in submission grappling as an incredibly accomplished competitor.

At ONE Fight Night 24 in August, she added another piece of gold to her collection by defeating Danielle Kelly to become the ONE atomweight submission grappling world champion.

The two women are set to run it back at ONE Fight Night 26 on Dec. 6 after producing a closely contested match the first time around.

In a recent interview with ONE Championship, Bastos reflected on her performance which she was overall happy with.

However, she does know that she could have done better when trying to find the submission and this is something that she'll try to do better in the rematch inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand:

"I thought I fought well, but there were some adjustments missing. I managed to land some finishing attacks, but I needed a little more adjustment to get the submission. What surprised me was that she was a little more aggressive than I was expecting."

Mayssa Bastos won't be surprised this time around

Mayssa Bastos now knows to expect an aggressive approach from Danielle Kelly unless the former divisional queen tries to switch up her game for the rematch.

The Brazilian secured the decision victory by producing more submission attempts but as she admitted, a couple of adjustments were missing.

Bastos won't make the same mistake twice and you can be sure that she will have her heart set on getting the finish the second time around.

For Kelly, her aggression and resilience were key factors last time out and she may be able to use this as a foundation to build on.
