Kade Ruotolo and his brother Tye have achieved some incredible success since signing with ONE Championship. Their ascent in submission grappling has been nothing short of extraordinary and that hasn't slipped since they've both become ONE world champions.
The two brothers have always been motivated by testing themselves against the toughest opponents out there because most of all, they love competition.
This was the case for Tye Ruotolo at ONE Fight Night 21 where he put his welterweight title on the line against Australia's Izaak Michell.
Even in difficult circumstances against a top opponent, Tye was able to pull off the submission win to earn his best win to date in ONE.

During a recent interview with Cageside Press, Kade reflected on this contest and what his feelings on it were at the time:
"Izaak is a pretty tough guy, there are a lot of dogs out there. And for him to go out there and take out Izaak, who's pretty much the second top dog, aside from my brother, I was pretty nervous for that matchup but I'm glad he did well."

Kade Ruotolo faces huge test next time out
There's a reason that Kade Ruotolo and his sibling tend to call out opponents even though they're the ones holding the gold. They want the next toughest guy out there and sometimes, that means going away from the most natural weight class fit.
Kade is set to return at ONE 168 where he will compete in a dream co-main event clash against Mikey Musumeci.
With his lightweight title on the line against the dominant flyweight champion, this is yet another example of the Ruotolo brothers wanting to elevate submission grappling by putting on the biggest match-ups on the biggest stages possible, all whilst trying to bring the entertainment factor.
