Former ONE flyweight MMA world champion Adriano Moraes takes pride in being a topnotch fighter. It is something he uses to inspire up-and-coming fighters as they go for their own martial arts dreams.
'Mikinho' spoke about this in an interview over Party Starter Radio earlier this year, highlighting how he uses his experience competing and being a champion as a form of motivating others.
The 36-year-old American Top Team standout said:
"As an Amercian Top Team member, I have a lot of teammates that fight in the UFC and a lot of pro shows worldwide. It doesn't matter which organization you're going to fight in. I think the best thing you can do is to be a fighter in and out of the cage. There is pleasure to be on top of the sport. It's really good. And to help each other as a fighter, like one day you're going to be in fight camp and other days your friend is going to be in fight camp."

Adriano Moraes has steadily been one of the top fighters in ONE Championship since making his promotional debut in 2013.
He has fought many of the best flyweight fighters, including MMA legend and now-retired Demetrious Johnson, with whom he shared title fights three times, the last one in May 2023 in the United States.
Adriano Moraes returns to action at ONE 169
Just as he shares the joy of competing to others, Adriano Moraes is preparing for his long-awaited return to action next month at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Brazilian superstar will take on fellow flyweight MMA contender Danny 'The King' Kingad of the Philippines in a rematch at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. 'Reug Reug' on Nov. 8. That bout is part of the event that will be aired live and for free to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
It will be Moraes' first fight back after his final title trilogy match against Demetrious Johnson in May last year in the United States, where he lost by unanimous decision.
Adriano Moraes first took on Kingad in November 2017 in Manila, winning by submission in the first round. Both are now gunning for a huge win at ONE 169 to earn a possible shot at the vacant ONE flyweight MMA world title.
