Winning one belt was already a dream come true for Jonathan Haggerty. But when he won his second last year, it was just the icing on top. 'The General' recently recalled the history-making moment he became a two-sport world champion, after defeating ONE bantamweight MMA world champion Fabricio Andrade for the division's kickboxing world title.
Reviewing the tape in a video uploaded on his YouTube channel, Haggerty said:
"That actually gives me goosebumps. Two-sport world champion. You can just see how much it meant. I wish I could relive that moment again, there's no feeling like it, greatest feeling in the world. All the hard work, trash-talking, the hard training, it's all finished now."

Jonathan Haggerty, much like the fans, knew how the fight was going to begin but didn't know how it would end. The UK superstar handled himself well and was composed the entire time whilst delivering the perfect game plan.
Andrade, although he's a terrific MMA striker, was having a tough time finding his rhythm under the kickboxing ruleset. His hands were down and Haggerty just let him have it, handling business as usual until scoring the shocking TKO in the second round.
"I remember putting up a post after that" - The magnitude of the upset against Fabricio Andrade persuaded Jonathan Haggerty to be uncommonly vengeful
Jonathan Haggerty wasn't much of a trash-talker until he met Fabricio Andrade. The Brazilian powerhouse is notorious for his bullying ways, which forced Haggerty to come out of his shell and defend himself in a way that was very unlike his usual self.
In the same video, 'The General' recalled feeling a strange mixture of retribution and shame, after mocking Andrade with an Instagram photo showcasing his demise for all the world to see. He said:
"I remember putting up a post after that, where he was talking too much shit. It was a picture of him lying down on his back. Me over him, and I posted, chat shit, get banged. That wasn't really a good idea, but at the moment, I thought it was."
Presently, Haggerty isn't doing any more trash-talking before his next big fight, since he respects Superlek too much to do that. The UK superstar will make his US debut on Sept. 6, to defend his Muay Thai world title for the second time against flyweight kickboxing world title holder Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE 168: Denver.
Tickets for ONE 168: Denver are available via Ticketmaster.
