"There's just a little bit more finesse" - Jacob Smith believes his flair will complement his usual high-octane style vs. Rodtang

Jacob Smith has not gone away in the last two and a half years and completely redefined who he is as a Muay Thai striker.

However, he does believe that he has made some crucial adjustments and improvements that make him a far bigger threat.

On his ONE Championship debut back in 2022, the Brit came up short against the biggest star in the sport, Rodtang Jitmuangnon. His trademark toughness and never-say-die attitude were on display and though this endeared him to the fans, it wasn't enough to make the fight competitive.

The pair are now set to meet for a second time at ONE 169 on November 8 where Rodtang's ONE flyweight Muay Thai world championship will be on the line at Lumpinee Stadium.

In a recent interview with Violent Money TV, Smith spoke about how he's always going to fight the same way but it's the little improvements he has made that make the biggest difference:

"I'm not one to stand on the backfoot. I'm not one to pin people off. I'll always be hunting for a finish, and if I can smell out the finish, I'll be going for it. But there's just a little bit more finesse as I said again."

Jacob Smith is ready to show that this time around

Jacob Smith had no problem admitting that he didn't think this fight would be next for him at this stage. His last fight was a narrow loss to Denis Puric whom the Brit was very outspoken about after believing that he should have got his hand raised.

Regardless of whether he's coming off of a win or not, Smith is confident that this rematch has come at the right time for him.

The first time around, he wasn't prepared to go toe-to-toe with one of the best in the world but that isn't the case two and a half years later.

ONE 169 will be available on Amazon Prime Video for fans in North America with an active subscription.
