Up-and-coming UFC lightweight Grant Dawson has revealed why he's always looking for a finish during his fights.
Dawson snagged his third finish in four fights against Mark O. Madsen at UFC Fight Night: Rodriguez vs. Lemos. During an interview with Sportskeeda MMA, James Lynch asked Dawson if he's constantly looking for a finish every time he fights.
In response, Dawson said that, for one, he's not getting paid more for spending more time in the octagon. So for him, it's always better to get the job done as quickly as possible.
However, there's a more worrying reason as far as Dawson is concerned. The 28-year-old thinks judges can't always be trusted to come up with the right decision:

"I hate just the uncertainty of judges nowadays... These guys have no – and I'm not dogging them, I'm just stating facts – these guys have no consequences for ruining people's lives. If they get a decision wrong, I go home with half a paycheck, a loss on my record that I'll never get back, and they'll go to the hotel and it doesn't even bug them. So I try to get them out of there to make sure there's no question who won the fight."

Following his recent win, Grant Dawson made it clear that he wants a big name, and his preference is Tony Ferguson.
Check out Grant Dawson's comments below:
Dawson is already committed to helping out his teammate Thiago Moises prepare for UFC 283. But if a Ferguson fight is on the table, Dawson revealed that he would do everything in his power to make the matchup happen:
"I can't fight until after January because I'm helping Moises get ready for his fight in Brazil. So March is the perfect timeline for me, but I will make whatever I need to make work for Tony Ferguson. That is the matchup."
Dawson added that Dan Hooker and Diego Ferreira are two more names he's targeting. If things go his way, he's hoping to fight all three of them next year:
"In my 2023 goes Tony Ferguson, Dan Hooker, [and] Diego Ferreira. Those are the three guys that I'm gonna knock off in 2023. Hooker wants to fight in February. I love the fight, [but] February just doesn't work."
