Fans reacted to Khabib Nurmagomedov's grappling skills being compared to Islam Makhachev's and Usman Nurmagomedov's.
In October 2020, Khabib retired from mixed martial arts competition following a UFC lightweight title defense against Justin Gaethje. The Russian legend walked away from the sport with a professional record of 29-0, making him one of the greatest fighters of all time.
Nurmagomedov's legacy has continued to be built by his cousins, Usman and Umar, and his close friend Islam Makhachev.
Makhachev has continued to dominate in the UFC by holding the number one pound-for-pound ranking. Meanwhile, Khabib's cousins have faced heavy adversity lately, with Usman narrowly defeating Paul Hughes and Umar suffering his first loss against Merab Dvalishvili.

Khabib Nurmagomedov invites Paul Hughes and his family to Dagestan
On Saturday, January 25, Usman Nurmagomedov defended his Bellator lightweight title with a majority decision win against Paul Hughes. The matchup featured high tension due to Nurmagomedov being from Russia and Hughes being from Ireland, re-igniting an intense rivalry started by Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor.
Khabib, who was in the corner of Usman, took to Twitter after the fight and partially settled the tension with a generous offer to Hughes:
"Thank you for the fight @paulhughesmma and for the experience, I invite you and your whole team and family to Dagestan, any time you want, believe me you will like it and your arrival will serve as a good example for many young generations"
Hughes called for an immediate rematch against Usman considering the first result was controversial. Nurmagomedov later responded by saying Hughes needed a few more wins before another title shot.
