Multiple-time BJJ world champion Mayssa Bastos did not achieve her laurels on her own. In fact, her family had gone through the journey with their unending support.
Bastos even shared that her parents were the ones who introduced her to the sport, and were there to mold her into who she is right now – a decorated world-class BJJ practitioner.
Now, she is ready to make an attempt to solidify her position as one of the best grapplers in the world by taking out ONE atomweight submission grappling queen Danielle Kelly in the main event of ONE Fight Night 24 on Friday, August 2.

Ahead of the U.S. primetime card from the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, Bastos told ONE how she has received tremendous support from her parents to pursue a life and career in BJJ.
She said:
"My parents always supported me and helped me until I started to walk on my own two feet. They were the ones who introduced me to sports and helped me become who I am."
"I never had any problems with my family, because they always supported me. And if I'm here today, it's thanks to them," she added.
