UFC color commentator and avid hunting enthusiast Joe Rogan has always been fascinated by wild beasts, especially bears. During a recent appearance on the FLAGRANT podcast, the 55-year-old spoke about the viciousness of polar bears.
Rogan narrated an incident where an explorer was attacked and killed by a polar bear after getting stranded on an ice raft. He explained that the victim's colleagues had to watch helplessly as their friend was eaten alive by the wild beast.
The comedian clarified that (unlike many other animals) polar bears feast on their prey even while they are still alive:
"[The explorers] have a leak in their boat and they have to literally get off the boat because their boat is sinking. So they make their way to an ice raft... There is multiple hours before someone can come and get them and they see a polar bear... [The bear] dives in the water, comes up onto their ice raft, takes one of the guys, grabs him, pulls him into the water, swims with him over to the other [ice raft], and starts eating him right in front of those dudes... They had to watch their friend getting eaten alive by a polar bear... and they eat you alive too, they don't bother killing you [first]."

When Joe Rogan detailed survival tactics against a female grizzly bear attack
During episode #1269 of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan explained what people can possibly do if they ever get attacked by a female grizzly bear.
The UFC commentator claimed that most of the time when female grizzly bears attack people, it's just to protect their cubs. Rogan stated that curling oneself into a ball and lying in a fetal position is the best way to hopefully survive a female grizzly bear attack:
"If it's a female grizzly, you're literally better off letting her f**k you up. Just curl up in a ball, you're supposed to put your hand behind your neck, lay in a fetal position and don't let her get access to your organs, because she wants to chew your organs apart... She wants to immobilize you as a threat to her children."
