Alex Pereira is reportedly being seen as the replacement for Belal Muhammad as the headliner for UFC 310 in the wake of the welterweight champion's withdrawal due to injury. A recent foot infection left 'Remember the Name' hospitalized, leading to rumors of a Pereira intervention at UFC 310.
The development sparked a tremendous wave of reactions from fans as it wouldn't mark the first instance of 'Poatan' stepping in on short notice to save a card that's lost its main event. However, it would still be challenging to persuade both 'Poatan' and Magomed Ankalaev to a short-notice light heavyweight title fight.
More so, Ankalaev is the uncertain option. The promotion will have to offer them quite the purse. This was echoed by a fan on X:

"If he takes this fight, they need to pay him big money"
Other fans held similar sentiments about summoning Pereira for another short-notice main event:
"Prob $500k to show and $500k to win. They need a up that to $2mill to show and $2mill to win"
Some, however, called on the UFC to allow Pereira some recovery time:
"Let Alex rest at least for six months"
Meanwhile, Ankalaev's willingness to take a short-notice fight was doubted by another fan:
"Will Ankalaev say yes though?"

'Poatan' last fought at UFC 307, defending his light heavyweight strap in a thrilling fourth-round stoppage of a very game Khalil Rountree Jr. It was among Pereira's most challenging fights, but the moment he figured out Rountree's timing, it marked the beginning of the end.
Alex Pereira had previously saved UFC 303
UFC 303 was originally set to be headlined by the return of Conor McGregor, who was set to face Michael Chandler at welterweight. Unfortunately, 'The Notorious' fractured his toe, prompting the UFC to call upon the services of Alex Pereira, who stepped in on short notice to defend his light heavyweight title.
Check out 'Poatan's' reaction to the UFC 303 main event:
Pereira faced former 205-pound champion Jiří Procházka in a rematch of their UFC 295 encounter, which he won via second-round TKO. At UFC 303, he again finished Procházka in round two, only more dominantly.
