Two-sport world champion 'The General' Jonathan Haggerty says he doesn't plan on leaving ONE Championship after announcing a possible transition to MMA this week. Since ONE is home to multiple martial arts, some of its top athletes challenge themselves by competing in other sports.

After dominating one sport, the next move is to invade another. Like many before him, Haggerty is currently attempting to make a slow transition from kickboxing and Muay Thai to mixed martial arts.

With that said ONE Championship continues to be the leading martial arts promotion in the world that offers that sort of career advancement for its athletes.

So for the young Brit, it's a no-brainer. Earlier this year, 'The General' signed a new multi-fight deal with ONE to indicate that he's there to stay for the time being.

Speaking to Sky Sports MMA Club via Spotify this week, Haggerty doubled down by saying:

"I think I'd stay with ONE. ONE treats me great, I've started with them since very young, they've proven themselves, the team's great. I think I'll stick with ONE. But who knows, time would tell, but my plan at the moment is to stick with ONE Championship, and they're gonna keep guiding me to greatness."

Haggerty is indeed in the best position of his martial arts career. This year, he moves on to face an even bigger name in ONE Championship, after successfully defending his bantamweight belt against 'Demolition Man' Felipe Lobo this past February.

On Sept. 6, 'The General' will put his crown on the line again against current ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9 inside the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado.

ONE 168: Denver is available free to stream on Prime Video for North American subscribers in Canada and the US.

"I'm very thankful for ONE and Chatri" - Jonathan Haggerty extends his thanks to ONE CEO and Chairman Chatri Sityodtong for looking after him

Two-sport king Jonathan Haggerty is extremely grateful to ONE Championship for the ability to make a living as a full-time athlete.

As you know, there aren't many athletes out there who get lucky enough to cash in a bonus after a performance, much less make a comfortable living out of fighting. So Haggerty feels nothing but gratefulness at having secured multiple paychecks since joining the ONE roster in 2019.

Speaking about ONE, Haggerty said:

"I'm very thankful for ONE and Chatri. I'll just keep putting on performances and then stacking them bonuses."
