“They're pretty boring” - Jarred Brooks sees himself as the only worthy opponent to Demetrious Johnson 

Jarred Brooks once again claimed ONE Championship's golden strap, and now he's gunning for another tough challenge.

Immediately after capturing the ONE interim strawweight world title over Gustavo Balart in the main event of ONE Fight Night 24 this past weekend, he turned his sights on the one and only Demetrious Johnson.

'The Monkey God' saw himself as Johnson's only worthy opponent, especially after he was promoted to black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu after submitting Balart with a tight rear-naked choke to conclude their fight.

The American superstar shared his thoughts to ONE in his post-fight interview:

"Now, I think that God gives me signs and getting into ONE Championship and getting the accolades, where I am now, where Demetrious is now. Now we kind of have [almost] a common opponent between Gustavo."

He added:

"I think it would be a great matchup between me and him. Reece McLaren, he's boring. All these other guys at flyweight, they're pretty boring. Kairat, he ruined his chance by doing steroids, by cheating. I'm not a cheater."

Although Brooks will undoubtedly face old rival Joshua Pacio after he recovers from an ACL injury, the Indiana native still wants to keep himself busy.

Throughout ONE Championship history, Jarred Brooks might be the only one who suffered the most dramatic world title losses. Brooks was disqualified in his first world title defense after accidentally spiking Joshua Pacio's head to the canvas at ONE 166 in Qatar earlier this year.

And now, five months after that heavy loss, the American captured the ONE interim strawweight MMA gold and shared about his struggle in reclaiming the status as the top dog in the same interview:

"You have no idea of the amount of pain, the agony, the sacrifice that I had to do to get this belt."
