Dricus du Plessis is preparing to defend his middleweight title against Israel Adesanya in a highly anticipated UFC 305 main event clash. Ahead of their clash, set for Aug. 17, one specific preparation method used by Du Plessis' coach has left fans scratching their heads.
'Stillknocks' has been under the tutelage of Morne Visser, head coach of the CIT Performance Institute, for over ten years.
As part of the UFC's build-up for Du Plessis' clash with Adesanya, they sent a film crew to capture the training environment at the CIT gym in Pretoria, South Africa. To the surprise of many, Visser was captured holding a lengthy taser, which he stated was his "assistant coach."
He explained that the taser was used as punishment should any fighters at the training gym make a mistake, saying:

"This is my assistant coach, so if they f**up I help them fix the problem. This is fixing the problem. Not on his toes, not picking up his hands, not kicking when he needs to. I'll fix him here."

Dricus du Plessis' coach shares bold prediction for Israel Adesanya clash
Israel Adesanya is one of the most talented and technical strikers in the history of MMA. The two-time middleweight champion has often been labeled as having a weakness in the grappling area of MMA, and it would be fair to expect Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, Dricus du Plessis, to try and exploit Adesanya's ground game.
But according to Morne Visser, they are eager to take on 'The Last Stylebender' in the striking realm.
With 'Stillknocks' holding K-1 kickboxing world titles, he is more than competent on the feet. Ahead of Du Plessis' UFC 305 clash with Adesanya, Visser was captured discussing the gameplan for their title fight during Extreme Fighting Championship's EFC Engaged video, saying:
"We'll fight Izzy wherever it is that Izzy wants to take it. We are 100% where we need to be. They think that Dricus is going to shoot and take him down. No way. We want to beat him on the feet."
