"This fight won't go to the judges' decision" - Fabricio Andrade confident he'll finish Kwon Won Il for a second time at ONE 170

ONE Championship is only a few days away from its first numbered event of the year with ONE 170, where Fabricio Andrade will look to turn away Kwon Won Il in defense of the ONE bantamweight MMA world championship.

'Wonder Boy', who handed Kwon his lone knockout defeat under the ONE banner in June 2022, outlined how he plans to end the South Korean standout at the Friday, Jan. 24 card inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.

Andrade told the promotion:

"I'm going to finish the fight, no matter what round. I'm going to look for the knockout all the time, and if I have the opportunity, I'm going to knock him out. But if I also have the opportunity to take him down and take this fight to the ground, I'm going to submit him. So, my prediction is that I'll win by submission or knockout. This fight won't go to the judges' decision."

The lightning-quick knockout of 'Pretty Boy' ultimately secured Andrade's opportunity to challenge then-reigning king John Lineker for the crown, which was stripped from him before the event for missing weight, in October 2022.

Their first bout ended in a no contest, and the rematch was scheduled for February the following year. Andrade left no doubt and battered 'Hands of Stone' to take the vacant bantamweight MMA throne for himself via TKO in the fourth round.

Fabricio Andrade missed the entirety of 2024 to recover from injuries that have bothered him since 2023, with ONE 170 marking his return to action.

In a separate interview with ONE, the 27-year-old mentioned:

"I'm training a lot, I'm motivated as I was when I made my ONE debut. I'm very happy and I believe I'm on my way to having the best performance of my life."
