Gilbert Burns has shared his own account of the two sides of Colby Covington in a previously untold story. 'Chaos' is infamous for his provocative persona, adopted during UFC events as well as any time that a camera is pointed in his direction.

Covington is rumored to be an immensely well-mannered and respectful individual off camera.

The former welterweight title challenger recounted the events, which occured three years ago, during a recent episode of the Show Me The Money podcast. Burns said:

"There was a Brazilian concert going on... There was me and my wife and two other couples, and as we were walking off Colby was there. He saw me and he called me, 'Hey, come here.' I was ready if something happened. But then, this guy is so fake bro, he was like, 'Ohh Gilbert! I'm a huge fan. Bro, you're a warrior. A family guy. If I said something about you it was to promote, I'm sorry.'"

He continued:

"But he kept going on, he kept saying, 'Bro you are such a warrior. I'm a huge fan. I like you so much. I always watch your [fights].' At one point I was like, 'Okay bro, [that's enough].' Yeah, it was too much. He tried to be super nice because I came ready [to fight]. I came with one energy."

Gilbert Burns named best grappler in the UFC by Mikey Musumeci

One of the world's best grapplers, Mikey Musumeci, has hailed Gilbert Burns as the UFC's best grappler. Musumeci competed for ONE Championship from 2022 until 2024, after which he signed a deal with the UFC.

'Darth Rigatoni' is widely regarded as one of the best pound-for-pound grapplers in the world, and during a recent interview with MMA media personality Nina-Marie Daniele, he named Burns as the UFC's greatest grappler.

'Durinho' holds several world titles in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, more than supporting Musumeci's recent claim.

During the interview, the New Jersey native said this:

"Well, I got my black belt from Gilbert Burns. So he's my coach, so I have to say him. But I really think he has amazing jiu-jitsu. Great submissions, great everything. So he's my answer."
