UFC 304 experienced an unfortunate technical issue during the middleweight clash between Gregory Rodrigues and Christian Leroy Duncan. Instead of the usual commentary offering play-by-play analysis of the bout, audio that appeared to be cycling through different channel settings played out.
It made for an odd listening experience, with fans taking to X to voice their displeasure over the incident. While the promotion has not addressed the issue, nor what was behind it, it thankfully did not last, as the remainder of UFC 304 is currently transpiring without further incident.

One fan claimed that the UFC and ESPN ought to be ashamed of themselves for such a technical lapse on an event as monumental as UFC 304.
"UFC and ESPN+ should be absolutely EMBARASSED with the audio and video of this show tonight. This is hilariously bad and amateur."
Another fan, an MMA content creator who goes by the name 'MMA Joey,' echoed the aforementioned sentiments.
"ESPN & the UFC need to get their sh*t together. Audio is gone & all I'm hearing is a dial tone & occasionally "Channel 2, Channel 1" WHAT THE F***???"
Others even went as far as describing the technical lapse as a disaster.
"ESPN audio has now left the UFC 304 card. Absolute disaster in the production trailer right now"
Some even demanded refunds.
"ESPN I want my money back ON UFC 304. This is horrible quality of broadcasting for $79.99. Audio cutting out. Glitching. Shutting off. @danawhite I hope you find a new company to partner with soon because this woke *ss company is trash."

The bout between Rodrigues and Duncan, which was the most affected by the audio cuts, ended in a unanimous decision. With many calling for the UFC CEO to find an alternative besides ESPN, the lapse has taken some shine off an event that has, thus far, been good to the promotion's English stars.
