Scottish slugger Nico Carrillo knows what awaits him if he gets his hand raised in his next outing in ONE Championship.
The second-ranked contender steps up to challenge two-sport world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 for his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title in the co-main event of ONE 170, which emanates live from the Impact Arena on January 24.
While some may suggest this as a final throw of the dice, given Superlek's winning streak and form, Nico Carrillo is more than ready to embark on his own path of greatness.
Appearing in a live studio interview on Sky Sports this week, Nico Carrillo had this to say on what it means to collide for 26 pounds of gold in Bangkok, Thailand, next year.

'King of the North' shared:
"Finally! This is the last clutch of the draw. This is the one to finally get over that last hurdle. Words don't really describe what it would mean to me, but not only that, it's fighting for the belt, okay, but it's who I'm fighting for the belt.'
Carrillo heads into this massive world title tilt against 'The Kicking Machine' on a majestic 4-0 run under the ONE spotlight.
All his triumphs have come by knockout, with the highlight of the lot being his second-round mauling of former longtime bantamweight Muay Thai supremo Nong-O Hama.
On Superlek's end, the striking wizard has racked up 11 wins on the trot, his latest being a first-round knockout of Jonathan Haggerty at ONE 168: Denver to claim the gold he will put on the line at ONE 170.
