Last Friday represented another special moment in Lessei's ONE Championship tenure. The American Muay Thai fighter secured a first-round knockout against Cody Jerome, leading to a $50,000 performance bonus.

Following his impressive win, Lessei joined Mitch Chilson inside the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium ring for a post-fight interview. 'The Chef' reflected on his successful week with the following message:

"Me and my coaches have just got the best week ever and I’m just so thankful for Chatri and ONE Championship. This is the life that I want, and it’s just a blessing to be a Muay Thai fighter and to do something like this."

Luke Lessei wasn't the only fighter to receive a $50,000 performance bonus at ONE Fight Night 27. Later in the night, Denice Zamboanga earned the same reward due to her second-round knockout against Alyona Rassohyn, making her the interim ONE women's atomweight MMA world champion.

What's next for Luke Lessei in ONE Championship?

Luke Lessei will likely remain the number five-ranked featherweight Muay Thai contender, as he holds a loss against number four-ranked Bampara Kouyate. Lessei now looks to keep a close eye on an upcoming event featuring nearly the entire title picture for his division.

On January 24, Tawanchai will defend his featherweight Muay Thai world title against Superbon in the ONE 170 main event. Earlier in the night, number four-ranked Kouyate is scheduled to face number two-ranked Jo Nattawut.

Lessei has earned an opportunity to face one of the previously mentioned contenders, depending on how ONE 170 plays out. The American superstar could also be matched up against number four-ranked Sitthichai, who's waiting for what's next after suffering a unanimous decision loss against Shadow in December 2024.
