Johan Estupinan has hit the ground running since he arrived in ONE Championship. Competing in the flyweight Muay Thai division, he has already impressed in such a short time of being a part of the roster.
After debuting back in May at ONE Friday Fights 64, he secured back-to-back wins, which set him up for the biggest moment of his career to date.
ONE 168 saw the promotion return to the United States for just the second time where Estupinan and Sean Climaco were tasked with getting proceedings underway.
At just 21 years old, he put on an instant classic at the Ball Arena in Denver, trading knockdowns with Climaco until, eventually, he stood tall in the second round,

As a reward for being a part of a Muay Thai war, Estupinan was awarded a $50,000 performance bonus, which he reflected on in his post-fight interview:
"This literally means everything to me, ever since I was a little kid, just watching fights on TV, and there are just not enough words to describe how proud I am. This is just a way to help my family, and this has always been my dream."
As you can tell from his words, this was a real moment for the young fighter who has worked incredibly hard to get here:
"I've trained so hard for this, I deserve it. I'm so happy."

Johan Estupinan may have worked hard to get to where he is but none of that would matter if he couldn't back it up inside the Circle. At ONE 168, his heart, will, and toughness were all called into question by Sean Climaco in the opening round.
He had to battle through some serious adversity, but this wasn't going to stop him from getting his hand raised on September 6. It was an incredible display that truly showed what this young and exciting fighter is capable of.
