UFC middleweight and former title challenger Jared Cannonier is all set to return to action soon. 'The Killa Gorilla' will lock horns against Caio Borralho in a five-round middleweight clash on Aug. 24.

The bout will headline the UFC Vegas 96 event which will be held at the UFC APEX Facility in Enterprise, Nevada.

The fight will mark a quick turnaround for Cannonier as the 40-year-old was last seen in action on June 8 when he took on Nassourdine Imavov in a five-round fight. The night did not go well for him as he lost via TKO in the fourth round.

But the news of his quick turnaround has gotten many MMA fans excited. Some of them took to social media to share their thoughts on the fight announcement.

One person predicted that the five-round clash would end in a finish.

"This one is not going the distance!"

Another individual expressed their disappointment at the fight taking place at the UFC APEX facility.

"This is a great matchup, it's a shame it's going to take place at the APEX."

One fan showered praise on Cannonier for accepting the fight after competing in June.

"Props to Jared getting back in, that's a quick turnaround. Should be a war."

Will Jared Cannonier be able to stop Caio Borralho's impressive run?

Caio Borralho is currently on an impressive run in the UFC. 'The Natural' has won all six of his fights in the promotion. This includes wins over fighters like Paul Craig and Abud Magomedov.

Additionally, the 31-year-old is on an 16-fight undefeated streak in his professional career.

Jared Cannonier, on the other hand, is 40 years old and might possibly be past his prime. But despite his last loss, 'The Killa Gorilla' has defeated the likes of Marvin Vettori, Sean Strickland, Derek Brunson, Kelvin Gastelum, Jack Hermansson and Anderson Silva.

Considering the names on his resume, it might not be wise to count Cannonier out of this fight.

So, it will be interesting to see whether the old veteran will persevere on Aug. 24 or will the Brazilian continue his undefeated run in the promotion.
