Khamzat Chimaev seems to be waiting on a call from the UFC and fans seem enthusiastic about how he has gone about putting this message out on social media. The surging middleweight contender posted a picture to his X account of himself toting a unique gun, drawing the attention of several UFC fans.

The caption of the post simply saw Chimaev tag the UFC and then include a phone emoji implying he is waiting for a call from the promotion regarding his next assignment. 'Borz' previously stepped into the cage in October 2024 and secured a dominant first-round submission victory over former middleweight titleholder Robert Whittaker at UFC 308.

Hypothetical Khamzat Chimaev vs. Bo Nickal contest excites Chael Sonnen

Two accomplished wrestlers, Khamzat Chimaev and Bo Nickal could make for a quality grappling contest, according to a multi-division UFC title challenger, Chael Sonnen.

Sonnen recently expressed his excitement about seeing Chimaev and Nickal test skills on a prominent submission grappling circuit if there is no possibility of a UFC bout between them.

In a recent video on his YouTube channel, Sonnen stated:

"The same weight class and they're almost the same age. The only thing different between those two is opportunity... Polaris is a great place to do it. UFC Invitational is a great place to do it."

"I'm telling you guys right now, if you like this idea, if you want to get Bo and Gordon [Ryan] and Chimaev, and you want to figure this thing out, all you have to do is support what I'm saying," he added.
