American Muay Thai star Luke Lessei made the most out of his opportunity at ONE Fight Night 27 last Friday, Jan. 10. He went blow-for-blow with Road to ONE: Canada tournament winner Cody Jerome inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
'The Chef' produced his best showing yet in the world's largest martial arts promotion, and he gave full props to the people who helped him prepare for their catchweight (160.5 pounds) Muay Thai clash.
Speaking with ONE commentator Mitch Chilson during the post-fight in-ring interview, Lessei mentioned:

"I just want to thank everybody, my two coaches, Coach Peach, Shane Fazen, they unlocked a part of me that I didn't know was in there. Because I get scared as hell every fight, man. This is real nerve-racking. I am a boy coming out here, it's pretty scary."
He continued:
"But like I said, my dad and these two men right here, it only takes three guys and I got three good ones in my corner. Shoutout to everybody, man. I love the fans, I just love this, man, this is awesome!"
The Dubuque Martial Arts Group product dropped Jerome thrice in the opening round, invoking the three-knockdown rule to secure his first finish under the ONE banner.
Luke Lessei receives first $50,000 performance bonus in ONE Championship
ONE Fight Night 27 featured many stunning performances, but only two fighters received the coveted $50,000 performance bonus from ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong: Luke Lessei and Denice Zamboanga, the new ONE interim women's atomweight MMA world champion.
Lessei earned his by wowing the fans with his two-minute domination of Cody Jerome. Meanwhile, 'The Menace' overwhelmed Alyona Rassohyna en route to capturing the interim crown via TKO in the second round.
