Polarizing social media personality Tristan Tate, brother of the equally controversial Andrew Tate, just posted about the recent update on the gender debate surrounding Olympic boxers Imane Khelif and Lin Yu Ting.

As it happens, the International Boxing Association (IBA) holds a press conference addressing the issue. The IBA had its former Chairman of the Medical Committee Dr. Ioannis Filippatos, a 30-year veteran in obstetrics-gynecology, general surgery, and in vitro fertilization (IVF), to set the record straight.

In the presser, Dr. Filippatos criticized the president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Thomas Bach, for his statement that the science proving Khelif and Lin's as men being "poor", saying:

"For me, [the] science is not poor. Medicine is knowledge, it is not opinion ... I know who is woman and man...One passport can give to us the opportunity to be men, and, tomorrow when I go back to Athens, I can go to my government and change my name from Ioannis to Ionnia. That means I am a woman tomorrow? Please. The nature and the biological world do not change."

Here's the full statement as posted by REDUXX on X:

Tristan retweeted the video with the caption:

"So both boxers are in-fact men. A lot of people attacked me for spreading 'misinformation'. This settles it."

Additionally, when Dr. Filippatos was pressed by the media to clarify whether Khelif and Yu Ting were born biological females, he said:

"I [tried] to say that the medical results, the blood result looks and says, the laboratories, that these boxers [are] male."

What did Tristan Tate initially say about Imane Khelif and Lin Yu Ting?

When the news broke out of Italian boxer Angela Carini walking out of her match with Imane Khelif while questioning the latter's gender, the public was sharply divided on who's side they were on.

One of those who were on the side of Carini was Tristan Tate, who stood firmly by his assessment that Khelif is "a man".

He did so by posting a photo of Carini on X, with the caption:

"The left asked for this. Now this woman has just been publicly violently beaten by a man. #IStandWithAngelaCarini"

The IOC is yet to respond to the IBA's official statement on the matter. It seems this story will continue to develop for some time. We'll keep our ears to the ground.
