The entire MMA community is thrilled about Israel Adesanya's highly anticipated return to the octagon. Adesanya is set to challenge reigning champion Dricus du Plessis for the middleweight title in the main event of UFC 305. The ninth pay-per-view of the year will take place on Aug. 17 in Perth, Australia.

Their fierce rivalry began long before their heated face-off at UFC 290. The whole thing started when du Plessis called out 'The Last Stylebender', the then middleweight champion, pledging to become an actual African champion and bring the title back to his continent.

In the past, du Plessis has vented his anger at the UFC for keeping his fight against Adesanya unconfirmed. But now that their fight is official, his wish has finally been fulfilled.

Following the confirmation, Adesanya recently took to X and released a chilling promo for the title fight, which blew the minds of many.

Following his unexpected loss to Sean Strickland at UFC 293, Adesanya took a short break from mixed martial arts. In addition to giving 'Tarzan' the 185-pound belt that evening, the Nigerian gave an extremely subpar effort.

While Adesanya was away from the octagon, Strickland made his first title defense against du Plessis at UFC 297. After a grueling five rounds of action, 'Stillknocks' narrowly prevailed by a split decision to become the new champion.

Israel Adesanya is ready to make his octagon comeback

Israel Adesanya is excited to fight again and recently spoke candidly about his upcoming UFC comeback. The former middleweight champion stated that he is not under any pressure to win the title back right away and isn't overstressing himself in preparation for his comeback.

In a recent video posted on his YouTube channel, 'The Last Stylebender' spoke about his comeback. Adesanya said he is more concerned with making a statement than pursuing a title:

"I'm excited. It's been a year, almost a year like a little more by the time I get back in the octagon. People are always like, 'I hope you get the belt back'...I have belts. I don't need anymore belts. I'm coming for heads. That's what I want to do. Just a few that I have to touch...Everything comes at its own time, so right now it's just time for training...working, relaxing, healing, and then when it's time, time for killing."
