"This is the third time I've been evacuated" - When Joe Rogan opened up on his experience with California wildfires

Six years ago on episode #1198 of the Joe Rogan Experience, the popular podcaster touched on his ordeal with California widlfires. He spoke to guest Derren Brown, a mentalist and illusionist, detailing an instance during which he was evacuated from his home.

Unfortunately, it wasn't Rogan's first time dealing with a wildfire serious enough to require him to abandon his home, even if temporarily.

As he and Brown recounted the magnitude of the wildfires at the time, with the episode dating back to Nov. 9, 2018, Rogan said the following about the smoke engulfing Los Angeles:

"It looks like a giant gray mountain in the distance. It's insane how bad it's gotten. I've had it happen three... this is the third time I've been evacuated since I've moved here 20+ years ago. Yeah, it gets rough, but this is the roughest I've ever seen."

The longtime UFC commentator once resided in California but has since moved to Austin, Texas. He has repeatedly expressed satisfaction with his move, occasionally referencing his shift in political ideology.

Fortunately for Rogan, his move to Austin has spared him from the recent Palisades fire.

It is among the worst wildfires in Californian history, is currently ongoing, and is responsible for the deaths of nine people thus far.

The fire could impact the venue for UFC 311, which is at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Los Angeles, California, this Saturday.

A fire fighter once warned Joe Rogan about Californian wildfires

Months ago, on episode #2178, Joe Rogan welcomed fellow comedian Sam Morril to his podcast. The pair's discussion was varied and lengthy, and one of the topics they touched on were the wildfires that have become commonplace in California.

Rogan revealed he was once warned about the wildfires by a fireman.

"So, I was talking to this guy and he was telling me, he goes, 'Dude. One day, it's just going to be the right wind and the fire's going to start in the right place, it's gonna burn through LA all the way to the ocean, and there's not a f***ing thing we can do about it.'"

Ultimately, the fireman's prediction proved accurate, as the Palisades fire is currently blazing through a large amount of territory at an alarming rate.
