Japanese kickboxing veteran Masaaki Noiri knew he needed a statement victory at ONE 170 this past Friday, Jan. 24, against Iraq's Shakir Al-Tekreeti in their featherweight kickboxing showdown.
Noiri targeted Al-Tekreeti's right leg early in their bout. 14 seconds into round two, he again landed a kick on the Team Mehdi Zatout representative, who dropped to the mat and signaled to his corner that something was wrong with his leg, giving Noiri the knockout win.
Watch the highlights of their bout below, which ONE shared on YouTube:

Masaaki Noiri's ONE 170 performance marks his first win in ONE Championship
Masaaki Noiri had all the pressure on his shoulders entering his 155-pound kickboxing matchup with Shakir Al-Tekreeti inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, after a shaky start to his ONE tenure in 2024.
He signed with ONE in April of that year following a decorated run in K-1, where he captured the Japanese promotion's welterweight and super lightweight championships.
However, the 31-year-old suffered back-to-back unanimous decision defeats to Thai great Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong in his June promotional debut and Liu Mengyang in December.
Earning his first win under the ONE banner in spectacular fashion points to Noiri's unbrekable determination to succeed in the world's largest martial arts promotion.
