Even someone like Brock Lesnar couldn't escape the wrath of Dana White after criticizing the UFC's sponsors. Lesnar badmouthed Bud Light beer, the then UFC's official sponsor, after his title win over Frank Mir at UFC 100 in 2009.

Lesnar avenged his UFC 81 submission loss against Mir with a TKO win in the rematch a year later. The former heavyweight champion went on a foul-mouthed rant at Mir in his post-fight octagon interview amidst boos from the crowd.

Lesnar also went on to slam Bud Light over their UFC sponsorship deal, which did not benefit the athletes, in one of the most controversial interviews of all time. The former WWE star said:

"I'm going to drink a Coor's Light, cause Bud Light don't pay me nothin'."

Lesnar released his autobiography titled Death Clutch: My Story of Determination, Domination, and Survival in 2011. The former heavyweight champion revealed that he was really told off by Dana White after criticizing Bud Light. Lesnar wrote in his book:

"Before the press conference that night, Dana took me into a bathroom and let me know what was on his mind. I said later that night that it was a ‘whip-the-dog session,’ and believe me, it was. He explained that pissing off major sponsors was not the way to do it. And just so I’m honest as hell here in my own book about it, let me say that he didn’t phrase his explanation too nicely. He was upset with me, and the truth is, he had every right to be." h/t Essentially Sports

Brock Lesnar apologized for his comments

Brock Lesnar walked out with a bottle of Bud Light to his UFC 100 post-fight press conference. Dana White's telling-off seemingly had its effect on Lesnar, who went on to offer an apology later on. The former champ said:

"First and foremost, I want to apologize. I acted unprofessionally. I'll leave it at that. I'm a sore loser. Frank and I in the first fight, I felt I gave it to him. I have nothing against Frank. The only thing I have against him is that he beat me. In the end, this stuff comes out because I'm just amped up."
