Former WWE superstar CM Punk transitioned into the UFC back in 2016. However, his run with the company didn't go as imagined and was rather disastrous.

CM Punk had his WWE contract terminated in June of 2014 and went on to make his UFC debut a little over two years later in October of 2016. The former WWE superstar fought Mickey Gall at UFC 203. However, he ended up suffering a submission loss just two minutes and 14 seconds into the bout.

This gave Stephanie McMahon the perfect opportunity to mock CM Punk's debut when WWE headed over to Chicago, his hometown, to host Monday night Raw just a couple of months after his submission loss.

During the show, McMahon was standing in the middle of the ring to deliver a promo while being interrupted by the constant chants of 'CM Punk' by the crowd. However, Stephanie knew exactly how to quiet the crowd.

While taking a shot at CM Punk's unsuccessful MMA debut, she said:

"So if you guys can keep that up for about two minutes and 15 seconds, you'd last one second longer than Punk did."

CM Punk UFC record: How many fights did the former WWE champion have in the company?

As mentioned earlier, CM Punk made his UFC debut in 2016 and ended up suffering a submission loss in the first round of the fight itself. Following the bout, the former WWE champion went on a break for nearly two years before returning to fight Mike Jackson at UFC 225 in 2018.

However, CM Punk couldn't make use of the opportunity yet again and ended up suffering a unanimous decision loss to Mike Jackson. Punk's fight against Jackson turned out to be his last in the octagon after Dana White suggested that the former WWE champion should call it a 'wrap'.

In the post-fight press conference, Dana White said:

"No, this probably should be a wrap. You know, the guy is 39 years old, I love the guy, he's the nicest guy in the world. We gave him two shots, you know and he showed a lot of heart tonight in this fight and I think he should call it a wrap."

It is worth noting that CM Punk's unanimous decision loss to Mike Jackson was overturned to a no-contest three years later because Jackson tested positive for the use of marijuana.
