Ex-UFC fighter Tim Kennedy is currently under fire after being accused of falsifying his military achievements and committing stolen valor, which is when a person lies about serving in the military or about their achievements in the military. Kennedy's book, a tell-all tale of both his journey through the military, as well as in mixed martial arts, was the catalyst for the recent controversy.

In his book, which was released in 2022, Kennedy made certain claims that have caught the attention of several former U.S. Special Forces operators, who did not shy away from laying accusations against the former fighter.

A list of the achievements that the ex-UFC middleweight has been accused of falsifying was posted to X by MMA journalist Timothy Wheaton, who tweeted:

"Former UFC fighter Tim Kennedy faces allegations of fabricating military achievements, from exaggerated grenade tales to disrupted shrapnel injuries."

Former U.S. Delta Force operator Brent Tucker and his co-host, Tyler, who run a podcast called The Antihero Podcast, sat down to discuss Kennedy's claims in a recent episode.

Tucker discussed a section of the former UFC fighter's book where he detailed throwing a grenade into a room in an attempt to suppress enemy fire. The podcast host said:

"[Kennedy] is not this guy that, 'I'll take charge. I'll do what's necessary. I'm gonna bring the boys home. It's up to me.' That's what [Kennedy] wants you to believe. In reality, what does he do? He goes and asks Dad for permission to throw a grenade... Do you know how many officers I've asked to throw a grenade? Zero."

U.S. Special Forces Sergeant Major details beating up Tim Kennedy in the army

Tim Kennedy served in the U.S. military from 2004-2009 and then again in 2017, having competed as an MMA fighter on either side of those two stints.

Former U.S. special forces sergeant major operator John McPhee recently recalled the time he and Kennedy got into a scuffle following some boastful words from the former UFC fighter.

McPhee detailed the story on the Shawn Ryan Podcast, saying this:

"One day I just [said], 'You're gonna kick all of our a**es?' [And Kennedy said], 'Yeah.' And I was like, 'Meet me at the dojo at midnight.'"

He continued:

"I was like, 'We're gonna fight in the order of rank.' The new guys didn't like it, and I'd say Timmy did well for two, three, four guys... But he couldn't beat us all... I was second-to-last because the captain went last... I was like, 'It's gotta be on me.' I just made sure in the time I had bloodied [Kennedy] up and made sure he was down."
